Description

Morels or morchella are simple mushrooms, yet visually distinctive because they resemble honeycomb-like structures. Their lattice-looking appearance occurs in the upper portion of the mushroom bulb which is surrounded by a network of ridges, containing pits. Because they are easy to spot, hunters enjoy finding them and preparing them in a variety of ways.

Morels are prized by gourmet cooks and have even been named the state mushroom of Minnesota. Use our dried variety in soups, stews or simply sautéed in butter. Don’t forget to add a dash of sweet sherry! Heaven!
