This distinctive, award winning and superior quality extra virgin olive oil is made from the first cold pressing of olives from the protected groves of “Il Merlano”, an estate belonging to the Catalano Rossi Danielli family since the 17th century.

The olives are grown naturally, with no pesticides or chemicals. The method of production has been a family tradition for over 350 years. The olives are hand picked and then cold pressed within 48 hours of their harvesting. Only the oil from the first pressing of these olives is used. The result is an extra virgin olive oil that retains the earthy taste of the region which in turn distinguishes itself from oils of large producers.

“Il Merlano” extra virgin olive oil has a sweet initial taste that develops into a traditional and spicy aftertaste, a reminder of the fruity aroma of the olives themselves.
